Due to circumstances beyond our control, Vienna ES had to move the Faculty Basketball game from our originally scheduled date of April 13 to May 11. It took us forever to find a gym that could accommodate us. By the time Madison called to say that we could use the gym, VES faculty was no longer up to playing. We considered a FH vs FH game, but by this point too many of our staff had made other plans for May 11. The unfortunate result is that the game must be “postponed” until next year.
However, don’t despair. Our FH Eagle Staff will spend their summer honing their dunking skills. Ms. B, Ms. Davis and Mrs. Snell will be using stretching machines and promise to come back in the fall over 6 ft tall. Mr. Miller, Mr. C and Mr. Matt will spend their summers in the weight room being trained by Mr. D And all of our players will meet 5 nights a week for pickup games. We will be ready!
Thank you to Mr. D and Ms. Deeney for working so hard to make this work. Next year – 2013 will be the year of the Eagles!

Our next Box Tops contest celebrates that it is almost time for Summer Vacation! The Box Tops Collection Sheets for our “School’s Out” contest are being sent home via Tuesday Folders. Everyone who returns a completed sheet (with 25 Box Tops) will receive a prize! A special prize is planned for the individual class that turns in the most Box Tops. You may also turn in loose Box Tops coupons in a bag or envelope. Be sure you include your first/last name, your grade, and your teacher’s name so we can credit your class for any prizes – 25 Box Tops get you a prize, and all Box Tops, no matter how many, count toward your class total for the special class reward.
Deadline: Friday, June 1, 2012. This is the first Friday after Memorial Day. Turn in as many collection sheets as you are able to fill with Box Tops. Give completed collections sheets and all other Box Tops to your teacher, so that he or she can make sure they are put into the collection box before the deadline. Box Tops received into the collection box after the contest deadline will be counted in a later collection contest.

We will receive 1% of the amount of each of your purchases from Target through the Take Charge of Education® program. This does not affect the 5% discount that you already get by using your card. Parents who do not have a Target card yet, please consider signing up for one. You will get a 5% discount on all your purchases, and Freedom Hill will benefit too.
